Moments of Surprise

MONDAYS THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:

I had quite a few moments of surprise Friday night when I was DJing a school carnival. I pictured myself playing some fun music in the background for the event. I would be adding to the general fun atmosphere at the school.

This was mostly the case but there were several moments that seized me and I was taken by surprise.

I was surprised at all the kids who wanted to make a request for me to play a song. I ended up playing a few of them. Some of them I didn't know. Some of them I didn't think were fitting. But when someone requested BABY SHARK I played that one!

And to my surprise, a kid starts doing all the moves to the song right there in front of the DJ table. That was a fun surprise. :-)

Another song, got several girls dancing. I could see some people mouthing the words to their favorite tune as well. I saw some people bobbing their heads or moving their bodies.

Several adults gave me a general thumbs-up as they passed by me.

And at the very end of the carnival, one girl had the best time dancing until the event was over and I stopped playing music. She was there for a good 15 to 20 minutes.

After it was all said and done, I think it might have actually been the largest event I had played considering all the people that were there. That's surprising huh?

I had some moments of surprise. You never know what songs are going to cause someone to dance at a school carnival, when there are lots of other fun things going on.

I wish I could approach the rest of my life with surprise and wonder.
