Happy MONDAY! TGIM! MONDAYS QUOTE OF THE DAY: "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us." ` Hebrews 12:1 - New International Version from the Bible.
MONDAYS THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
I really like the last part of this verse, "And let us run with perseverance (or endurance) the race marked out for us." I like to think there is some race out there for me to run. Whether that is an actual physical type of race like the 3M Half Marathon or just our spiritual journey. I think it's out there for us to go look at or into or to go look for. "The world is never saved in grand messianic gestures, but in the simple accumulation of gentle, soft, almost invisible acts of compassion." -Chris Abani, Nigerian-born American writer Endurance sometimes takes patience. Endurance requires a sustained effort over a long period of time. Endurance can be worked on. What kind of race do you think you are running? Is it a spiritual journey or a race? Is it a goal? Is it a thing you can put your finger on? REPLY and let me know. From Matt p.s. How cool is it that this verse showed up in two other places as seen in the pictures below? One was the upper room devotional and the other was a page a day calendar for October 15th. Thanks God!
