Feelings FOLLOW Behavior

Happy MONDAY! TGIM! QUOTE OF THE DAY: “The mature human being goes about doing what needs to be done regardless of whether that person feels great or terrible. Knowing that you are the kind of person with that kind of self-control brings all the satisfaction and confidence you will ever need. Even on days when the satisfaction and confidence just aren’t there, you can get the job done anyway.” ~ David Reynolds THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: From Brian Johnson’s Optimize Me Plus One Program: “David Reynolds wrote what might be the best book you (and most other people) have never heard of. It’s called Constructive Living. The main theme of the book is that feelings FOLLOW behavior. Most of us get that backward. He tells us that most people ask themselves “How do I feel?” before they do anything and then they let that dictate what they do. Not good. The fact is (and science confirms this) that feelings FOLLOW behavior at least as much as the other way around. Just simply getting yourself to take action CREATES the feelings you thought needed to be there to get you started.” This Monday is a pure gift. Today is a gift from God. I just got back from a great 4-mile run. It was cold out. It was dark out. And by the time I was done, I felt GREAT! That was probably the best run I have had in several weeks. Let’s do the things we know we need to do whether we feel like it or not. Because trust me there are definitely days I don’t want to work out. Yes, Coach Matt is human just like the rest of you. There are days I don’t want to put in the work and go for a run. There are days I don’t want to go to Camp Gladiator. But I do it and then I feel better afterward. That’s just how it works. “Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right.” – Henry Ford What steps can you take today toward your best life? It is time for you to take the necessary steps towards the life you keep dreaming about. The best time to start is now. Are you with me? REPLY BACK AND LET ME KNOW! In case nobody told you today, you are amazing. In fact, you are super duper amazing! You can do things that your mind won’t believe you can do. You have so much potential in you. You have greatness in you. Let’s do this day with joy!
